Lot #200584
This 1969 Jaguar XKE Series II roadster is a non-running project that spent time in California and, more recently, in Mississippi, before being acquired by the selling dealer. It is finished in British Racing Green over black leather and is equipped with a 4.2-liter inline-six linked with a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Equipment includes a tan soft top, a louvered clamshell hood, four-wheel disc brakes, 15″ wire wheels, a wood-rim steering wheel, and an Audiovox tape deck. This XKE roadster is now offered in Texas at no reserve with a Mississippi title.
The car was changed from Primrose Yellow to British Racing Green prior to the selling dealer’s acquisition, and the tan soft top has several sun spots and areas of discoloration.
The 15″ wire wheels are secured by earless knock-offs and are mounted with older Pirelli P77 tires. Braking is provided by four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rear rotors.
The cabin is upholstered in black, and the seats have been removed.
The wood-rim steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5k-rpm redline as well as an analog clock and gauges for voltage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 72k miles.
The replacement 4.2-liter inline-six is linked with a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The engine does not run, though the seller notes that it turns freely.
There is rust on the underside of the floors and underbody components.
