Auction description:

55,742 Miles (Indicated)
manual
RHD
Green Sand
Olive
5.3L V12
VIN 1S 51797
This Jaguar E-Type Series 3 V12 2+2 FHC is a refined classic British grand tourer, driven sparingly over the last 40 years.
Under the bonnet sits a naturally aspirated 5.3-litre V12, driving the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission.
This example is reported to have covered only around 2,000 miles since it was acquired by a member of the seller’s family in 1986.
The vehicle was acquired by the seller in 2016.
The odometer shows 55,742 miles, though this is not warranted.
EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES
This E-Type is finished in Green Sand over an Olive leather-trimmed cabin.
It rides on a set of 15-inch steel wheels, fitted with Avon Turbospeed tyres.
Equipment includes Smiths gauges, a three-spoke steering wheel, a row of rocker switches for the car's auxiliary functions, and a Panasonic radio.
Accompanying the sale are various invoices, the V5C, spare wheel, and one key.
CONDITION
Specific notes from the seller include: one small cigarette burn on the rear seat and fading on the front seats, sometimes a fan belt screech when it first starts.
The headlining was replaced in 2016.
The most recent MOT test was conducted on 12 June 2025 at 55,742 miles, resulting in a clean first-time pass.
SERVICE HISTORY
The car was last serviced in June 2025 at 55,742 miles by Hankham Motor Works, who replaced the fuel pump and serviced the driver’s side carburettors.
Prior to this, The Splined Hub in Oundle carried out various maintenance tasks in 2016 and 2017, including rebuilding the fuel pump, cleaning and servicing the carburettors and fuel system, installing BCC front brake callipers, and replacing various components such as the clutch master cylinder, water pump, coolant hoses, fuel filter and seals, header tank, door handle assembly, and ball joint gaters.
Invoices detailing other work undertaken are included.
