Sold by Beaulieu Garage in November 2023. Amended seller's description below.

This stunning Series1 3.8 FHC is presented in its factory colours of Carmen Red with Biscuit leather interior. Dispatched by Henlys London to its first UK owner; David Lochtie of the St Michaels Hotel in Leuchers, Scotland. The car was parked from 1971 until it was purchased as a restoration project in 1984. A comprehensive restoration was carried out over the course of three years, which resulted in a new MoT issued on 3 December 1987; up to this point the car had covered just under 32,000 miles from new. The current owner purchased the car in 2003 and after 20 years it is time someone else carries on the car's story.

The vehicle presents much as it must have after its 1980s restoration, the work has matured beautifully, the exterior paint and chrome gleam in the sun with only a few signs of age. The interior has also faired well with few signs of wear, the instruments and gauges all work correctly. The car retains its original Moss gearbox which operates as it should, the clutch was changed as part of the 1980s restoration and engages cleanly. The matching numbers straight six engine was rebuilt and fires from cold easily and runs smoothly. It is fitted with upgraded Coopercraft brakes and is fitted with a Lucas dynamo.

The meticulously kept service file includes MoTs from the 1960s onwards, hand written notes detailing all work carried out including the restoration, together with invoices from these periods. Also present are the Jaguar Heritage certificate confirming its matching numbers and build date and a photo album detailing the restoration and the car's life after it returned to the road. It is unusual to come across an original UK car with such a low mileage. The matching numbers, overall condition and huge service file make this an attractive investment.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
