Believed to be the 1,515 car to leave the production line, this handsome example was exported directly to Jaguar Canada on the 30th January, 1962. Little is known of its time there except that on 11th December, 1990, the vendor re-imported it back to the UK and began an extensive restoration program. This included striping the paint off to bare metal and completely disassembling the car before its rebuild could begin starting with the application of Waxoil in all cavities. A number of positive upgrades took place at that time including the installation of a 4.2 litre brake servo, a Kenlowe thermostatic fan, a stainless steel exhaust and up-rated brake discs and calipers. The supplied four-speed Moss gearbox (included) was substituted for a five-speed Getrag unit and new chrome wire-wheels and Koni adjustable shock absorbers were fitted to make for a very driveable and eminently usable E-Type. Very competitively priced, the low reserve takes into account the small paint defects that will need attending to although the driving experience is reported to be excellent.
